As a result, we are on the hunt for designers and design leaders who have a passion and talent for great design to join our regional design studios around the globe.Starbucks is currently looking for a successful, experienced and highly creative senior interior designer for the Special Projects Design Studio. The senior interior designer is responsible for developing and executing outstanding, locally relevant store environments that align with Starbucks global design strategy. The senior interior designer will play a key role in the ongoing development of the studio into an award winning, high performance design team.Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:• Develop design concepts. Lead project team to create and articulate clear furniture and finish direction that meets business requirements and scope.• Provide clear effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to consultants and/or team members.• Work with cross functional team to ensure design direction is reviewed and approved by manager. Identify direction, exceptions, propose design solutions and resolve with manager.• Leads cross-functional teams and other key stakeholders to meet project objectives and develops executions for multiple design concepts.• Oversees the implementation of interior design solutions for each project from concept stage through installation.• Contribute to Starbucks Global Concept Design business goals. Inform and set schedules with interior project team and effectively communicate dates to design team and manager to meet all established deadlines.• Lead design solutions within defined parameters of store cost targets with alignment from Construction Standards and Services and SCO.• Documents and disseminates information about key learning's and best practices to team members.• Manage the design process. Assess scope of project through business case and discovery phase of project.• Responsible for the development of all drawings, material boards and finishes by design team, including the development and production of the final design development drawings.• Ensure scope of work, business and code requirements are met. Review and approve drawings to ensure design intent is met.• Conduct site visits as needed.• Ensure alignment of cross functional teams on project or program designs. Lead design review and training for Store Planning. Participate in Schematic Reviews as requested by Store Planning.• Participate in market tours to gain cross functional understanding and visibility to unique market needs and requirements.• Ensure continued partner development and development of design team members.• Provide feedback for design team member to manager. Provide coaching and conflict resolution.• Assist manager in building bench strength for design team. Share best practices and learning's with peers and team mates.
