Systems Engineer (Avionics)

Details: Senior Avionics Systems Engineer: Virginia Description: The Senior Avionics Systems Engineer will be responsible for the integration and design of avionics systems that include defining avionics systems architectures and obtaining certification for the integration of avionics systems on commercial aircraft.  Tasking will include systems and subsystems requirements definition and allocation, system interface definition and control, support of hardware and software development and certification, systems and subsystems conceptual, preliminary, and final design evaluation, and support of systems qualification and test.  Participate in CDRs and PDRs and peer reviews, specification and statement of work development, and customer interface including coordination with field installation personnel and FAA certification authorities.  Bachelors and/or Advanced Degree in Engineering or related technical field with 10+ years of experience in avionics systems and subsystems engineering and integration. FAA DER or DER-eligible a plus. Must have demonstrated understanding of aircraft avionics systems functions, architecture and utility with the ability to execute avionics systems modification and upgrade projects and work with cross-functional disciplines including software, hardware, electronics, electrical, mechanical, design, and process aspects of product development.Prior experience with ARINC 429, ARINC 618, ARINC 739, DO-160, DO-254, and DO-178B product and process development standards. Working knowledge of how these standards are utilized in the STC process.Knowledge of AS-9100/ISO-9001 and capable of writing systems documentation that comply with these standards.       ;
