Details: Our client is seeking for a Cognos Architect for a long term contract position (minimum 6 months- 3 years)W2 only, no c2c. H1 sponsorship can be provided if needed. Job Requirements: Designs and codes from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements moderately complex software applications using Cognos Architect with Java - Cognos Administration with installation, performance tuning and optimization using load balancing, distributed hardware architecture with understanding the underlying datasources - Manage security (cognos, database, windows/unix) - Perform Cognos backup and upgrades and troubleshooting by understanding the various log messages. - Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results - Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities - Performs expert-level engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems - Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments - Research/analyze data processing functions, methods and procedures - Monitor program execution for expected performance - Modifies, installs, and prepares technical documentation for system software applications - Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures, and provides Tier 2 technical support. - May customize purchased applications, and assists in maintaining program libraries and technical manuals - Provides high level written communications such as white papers, decision documents, or research papers - Identify, escalate and document production impact issues for the environment to confirmed delivery for client and business notification
