This position reports to the Graphic Design Manager, is non-exempt and is located in the Emeryville/Oakland area. Deluxe Companies support innovation and are known to have the most competitive benefits and total rewards plans in the market today.Job Scope:Provide design expertise, page layout knowledge and general artwork file expertise to contribute to the success of the PsPrint Graphic Services. As a key member of the PsPrint Graphic Services, this role will play a central role in achieving aggressive project goals and meeting tight deadlines. The ideal candidate should be a results-oriented professional who has strong graphic design skills, exceptional project management abilities, a team player and superior execution skills with attention to detail.Candidates who provide a Graphic Design Portfolio along with their resume will be considered for this role.Duties and Responsibilities:• Troubleshoot and make changes and/or corrections to customer layouts and scan camera-ready art as needed• Responsible for typesetting and completing page layouts for customer orders within the required deadlines• Check digital files for adherence to company specifications• Produces complex print-based projects from initial design concepts to sending final artwork files to press• Responds to logo and artwork requests from external customers and produces comps• Works directly with external customers to develop design concepts• Responsible for archiving artwork upon completion of print jobs• Focus on service quality, customer satisfaction and customer education• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practicesExperience / Skills Required:• Expertise in entire Adobe Creative Suite (Mac and PC OS platforms)• Familiarity with Quark and Microsoft Publisher• Problem solver and self-starter who can take accountability and ownership of projects from start to finish• Effectively manages multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment• Thorough knowledge of various print processes including sheet fed, 4-color and spot-color• Can work in a team environment as well as independently• Superior organizational skills with attention to detail and focus on clear, realistic action steps and timeliness• Adept at project management and multi-tasking• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• 2+ plus years of education in Graphic Arts• 3-5 years experience using Graphic Design Knowledge in customer oriented environment• Must pass background check, drug test and be eligible for employment in the U.S.Required:Preferred:Pre-Employment Screening Drug screen and background check required.
