Details: Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities:• Conceptualize, plan and execute the design and development of system packaging for internetworking products (PCB assemblies / Linecards / Circuit packs / Blades – these are equivalent terms) • Hands on person, executing project management responsibilities of the system packaging development process. • Ensure all mechanical engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.• Consult with internal cross-functional units for definition and design of product (Needs to participate in discussions / meetings)• Initiates informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives within and across business units (Follows the processes that have been created in the BU & documents them along with the design development)• Provide vendors with improvement recommendations (Works closely with vendors during prototype development)• Provide leadership in the identification and creation of new techniques to advance the processes used in the development of system packaging.• Interface cross-functionally and leads team collaboration extending beyond work group. • Defines, directs and participates in the design verification testing of new products. • Leads the resolution of field and product problems. • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.• Take ownership for initiatives and drives on-going evaluation and success. • Resolve conflicts by fostering team communications. • Translate BU level goals into own work assignments.
