Remote Access Network Architect

Details: Our client, a global leader in the Pharmaceutical industry is seeking out experienced and driven Remote Access Network Architect to assist in a High Profile, Enterprise-Level Network improvement project. This is for a 9+ month contract position, located in Thousand Oaks, CA. As a Remote Access Network Architect you will: • Oversee identification and documentation of requirements • Oversee transition of remote access network services to a Managed Service Provider • Oversee centralized deployment of desktop client software and desktop configurations in cooperation with desktop management experts • Author and edit global user community training and communications material • Oversee execution of solution delivery of our managed service provider who will be responsible for day to day administration, support and troubleshooting of the network The successful candidate will possess experience in a combination of the following: • At least 4 years’ experience in designing, managing, or supporting remote access networks for large organizations (5,000+ users) • Experience with Juniper or Cisco remote access solutions • Familiarity with web proxy or web access control solutions such as BlueCoat Proxy SG • Advanced project management skills, including but not limited to the following: vendor negotiations, vendor management, and ability to create and manage requirements specifications, test plans, and transition to production support. • Must be capable of working and partnering with in highly matrix organization capable of partnering across the IS supply chain, able to present technical solutions clearly and succinctly to senior level executives. • Proven Data Networking architecture and design experience and ideally have experience and/or knowledge in desktop systems, software deployment, and support. Preferred Qualifications • Advanced certifications from vendors such as Cisco or Juniper • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or the equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience in eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements for IS projects • Experience in supporting Windows Vista Enterprise or Windows 7 desktops • Experience with high-security environments and Internet perimeters (firewalls) • Experience with global installations • Experience with cloud-based web proxy or access control solutions Hudson IT serves as a trusted resource for clients seeking high-quality technology professionals and IT solutions.
